Inverter Control Modes

I'm trying to understand how the various modes interact and the documentation is (imo) sparse. I have run in ECO mode since I had the system and been happy with the way that has worked.

The issue is that I have switched to Octopus flux, so want a forced charge every night from 02:00 to 05:00. I used the My Inverter settings page to set the charge 1 window to that but there was no charging done.

Q1. Does the charging window apply when the overall mode is in ECO or do I need to be in timed charge? That would seem "wrong" as the ECO prioritisation works well with my EDDI to minimise imports and I just want to overlay the charge.

Q2. I would also potentially want to restrict the battery discharge (probably in the low PV months) window to ensure I ran from battery during the peak tariff (16:00-19:00) so really want ECO mode with timed charge and discharge windows.

Grateful for any advice.

Thanks

**edit: I rechecked the settings and can see that I missed the slider to set target charge so it was left at 4% so would not have worked anyway. I've changed it now so I have a time and target set but on the control pages it looks like it's not enabled as I have ECO active still. I'll test it now with a charge during the day but would still appreciate some clarity on how the modes co-exist (if they do)

**edit2: ok - it was not working, but then I used the remote controls page rather than settings and saw different switches which appear to co-exist with eco being on. To get it to work, I enable AC charge enable AND AC charge Upper % limit - I immediately get a 2.5kwh charge to battery by a mix of PV and grid and the %ge cut-off works to kill the grid charge but leave PV. Will setup for 2-5 am again and see how it goes tonight.

Conclusion: It does appear to work but you'd never know by reading the KB articles on the main site. Would be good to have a more nuanced overview of management options with example configs.

MikeBakke does anyone know where to find an explanation of remote control settings?
IE difference between % charge to and %SOC

RetSparky I never found one. The somewhat scary thing was that I spoke to 2 different techs on the GE support line and got very different answers from each of them.

What equipment have you got.
I am Gen1 Hy5.0 and used Flux and initially found I could not make what you want to do work reliably.
I then used Octo R&D labs scheduler. Worked but could be flaky at times.
I then used HA and wrote my own automations. Very reliable.
I then added Predbat to HA- excellent.
