As a home-user/end-user what is involved with the "Commissioning" the Installer does, and "Battery Calibration", and are there any documents I can read up on it.

No. Commissioning is the post-installation process of allowing the batteries to discharge to nominal 0% SoC, then charge to 100%, then calibration and commissioning is complete. Set the inverter to ECO mode, sit back and relax.

One thing you should probably check is did the installers properly secure the dongle, or did they leave an open WiFi network that strangers could access and surf the internet on (in your name!).
See the dongle pdf for more info on what they SHOULD do (a lot of installers don't!)
