I ahve submitted the following bug report this morning.

I have tried to change the time of my battery charge from 10am to 11am to take advantage of Octopus free electric. It keep defaulting to PM no matter how many times I try to change it. I have had to revert to the old dashboard to get it done.

The old dashboard took the change, i submitted it but it is still showing the old time. Frustrated at this. Looks like I'll have to rethink the washing, EV charging nd power into the battery in 35 minutes!

EDIT: What a palaver. Can they just get rid of the fancy clock and put in a very simple matrix. 30 minutes to get it to work - I'm not that confident it will.

Having all kinds of problems with the system at the moment, which is contributing to the erosion of trust I have in it. It’s nuts that we have to use the cloud to make changes to the hardware sitting in our garage, especially as it rarely seems to take first time or even after many tries. I’ve got one 5.2kWh battery that is reported drained having only discharged 3.6kWh since a full charge overnight (Octopus Go), while the second inverter 5.2 has been sitting “idle” at 98% charged for the past few hours while the house is pulling about 1.2kW from the grid.

I’ve attempted to reset the inverters remotely with no way of knowing if it’s worked or not, while the settings for both inverters state they are in Eco mode with a Go charge time so should be discharging to minimise grid import. This company has all its priorities wrong and should focus on hardware that does as it’s supposed to and stop fiddling about with the sodding cloud!

JJB Annoying 90% of the time it is fine but some of the gimmicks don't really use or impress me. The House graphic with power from solar, grid etc etc. Nice to have but....
I am still annoyed that i am not discharging to 4% anymore it goes to 8% yet no mention of the fix for some time now.

Well it did work but drained the battery for 2 minutes at 3kw until 10:02. No idea why I ahve the 2 minute lag all the time even at night. i can live with it but :-(

I've checked your records and have seen that your input you battery to charge from 10pm to 11am which isn't what you intended to do. I've just did some testing myself on my local environment to see if this was an issue on the web interface and I've checked the result and they seem fine

Could I ask which interface was used to do so? I'm unsure where this was done so we'd like to amend this asap if it is a interface issue.

mjkelly5a I still have a full battery sitting at 96% charged with mode 1 set and power being pulled from the grid. I’ve powered down the entire system, including the batteries, and started it all up and yet both inverters are reporting “idle”. One with a battery on 5% and the other on 96%. I’ve attempted to change modes on the portal and the app but it’s not changing anything.

As a plant of two or more inverters, they are meant to communicate with one another, one acting as the master controller with others as the slave units. Once again, it seems GivEnergy have yet to get any kind of sense from these multiple setups.

Mickey (GivEnergy) I tried on on the Beta portal 1st and after about 10 attempts gave up and went to the legacy. That also gave me issues but eventually went through.

Turning it back to the 2030 - 0030 after the free hour was fine on Beta portal.

But it just would not accept the start time of 10am. the finish time of 11am was fine.

It's now back to where I need it.

Just to add it worked as i wanted it to work eventually.

mjkelly5a In fairness to GivEnergy, I think the problem I was experiencing was of my own making, or at least in not checking all the parameters. When attempting to keep the charge on one 5.2 Bat, in the event storm Eunice took out our power, I changed one AC 3.0 from Eco to Timed Export. It wasn't possible to do this on the beta platform so I had to change it on the legacy one.

When the storm had passed, I changed the AC 3.0 back to Mode 1 again, but then noticed while the battery was charging, it was not discharging through the inverter. When on the chat with tech support on Friday, I was informed this was still in part due to the 'plant' (more than one connected inverter) setup and without having any reliable data it's hard to know what's working and what isn't.

I tried powering down, back-up, changing the sequence of reboot etc. but nothing seemed to work. Again this morning, both batteries had charged overnight and yet only one was discharging. I was gearing-up for another chat session with tech support this morning while I was scrolling through the various options of each inverter and trying to work out what the hell was going on. Then I found it: the Operating Range slider under Battery Options. It was all the way to the right, showing reserve at 100% and usable at 0%. I hadn't changed that slider, but it stands to reason that it would be changed when moving to the timed discharge mode, or Mode 2 in old money. Interestingly, it doesn't appear that it's moved back when reverting modes to dynamic.

So, another lesson in the GivEnergy lab rat experiment. I apologise unreservedly for claiming it was a system error when it was, in fact, a user error. Proof enough that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
