I've said something similar before- and reported it on the portal - but the reports data is in accurate. Not wildly out, but not accurate.

You can see here the solar for yesterday was stated as 24.17kWh, yet the inverter data says 23.2kWh. (Same as I get via GivTCP)

Surely its not beyond the wit of man to get this basic stuff right?

Personally I'm glad they spent time on fixing the SOC bug rather than play around with report formats.

If people want better reporting they can always explore the world of home assistant.

TX200 I agree that their priorities need to satisfy the customer and SoC was definitely the thing to work on, but not everybody can necessarily be involved in the top priority. The basic structure to consolidate inverter data needs a good looking at. For single inverter installations, the sums should just be right, or at least it should be clear why the data doesn't add up. For multiple inverter situations, there can be many more permutations and it's for this situation that they need to work out a process so that whether data should be summed, averaged, or ignored, it can be merged correctly and provide better information.

There's always firmware development to continue, but portal and app development are also important (IMO) and are likely resourced by different people with different skills.

anglefire made the same point to GivEnergy support yesterday, day totals incorrect compared to inverter>meter data, monthly reports don’t match sum of daily, yearly reports don’t match sum of months when comparing portal data to portal reports, the reply I got was “one is calculated and one is real data, the developers have made it in such way and any internet irregularities may cause these to be incorrect. The best data to look at is in my inverters > meter data as this is accurate and clocked up on the inverter itself.”

So basically, I’m no longer looking at anything produced by the GivEnergy scheduled reports, I just wish I could download the inverter data in greater than one day intervals so suspect will need to investigate further with home assistant.

TX200 With respect, I would expect them to be different departments, and whilst I agree the SOC problem was important to get a handle on, it can't be everything.
I do use home assistant, but to say if people want better reporting they should explore that is at ridiculous, arrogant even. I have made the point that its inaccurate - it always will be if it uses interval data to calculate usage rather than cumulative which I suspect it does.

Dai There is a Powershell script that can be run which pulls all the data off the portal into a CSV. Hoggy I think wrote it

Other than the initial hardware investment, we're not paying for the service. My expectations would be much higher if there was a monthly subscription.

We've got to remember the last few years have been crazy with supply chain issues, wars, Corona virus, ships getting stuck in canals, Brexit, energy crisis (meaning massive demand for solar and battery).

GE are growing to support that demand, but growing isn't always easy at first.

We aren’t, this is true, but the portal is essential to operate the system for the majority of people. And part of that is the reporting side.
And that needs to be as accurate as possible. It will never be perfect because of the meters inherent inaccuracy but should display the same results however it’s viewed.

At the end of the day it is the visible side of the product. It’s what will sell it more than anything else for the majority of users especially as it becomes more mainstream.

This is still not correct. My weekly report said my PV output was 75.3kWh but adding up the daily Inverter totals it was just 40.1kWh.
Slight errors we can go with but reporting a variance of 87% is a joke.

I have been noticing the Giv reports getting more and more unreliable over the last 12 months. I have 2 4kW arrays side by side on the same roof. The older one is on my FIT and I take weekly readings. The later, Givenergy array/installation I take readings from weekly reports and they are all over the place. So much so that I was wondering if my FIT array had lost some panels?

Is this something that is even being looked at with a view to sorting it out now?

The reporting has been off for a long time, I've tried engaging with Customer Support about it several times, as it's functionally worthless for us. Never got anywhere with them and now the legacy graphs have gone for me I don't even look at the app.

I use Home Assistant now for monitoring, far more reliable via GivTCP.

Rubikcube is your app available on Amazon’s Fire tablet store by any chance? Or iOS? Any plans if not?
