Please excuse my naivety, I am still learning.

I had my system installed 3 months ago and I think I have sorted most of my issues with it, but this one I need a bit of help with!

I have a 5kw system, I have 100% battery, but I am drawing from the grid.
I accept that there is a flaw / occasional pull to keep in touch with the grid, but is there a maximum I can pull from the battery?

With regards to the maximum you can pull from your battery, it depends on what inverter and battery combination you have. The 2.6kWh and 5.2kWh batteries can provide half their capacity as power (so 1.3kW and 2.6kW), other batteries can provide the maximum the inverter can cope with. This is 2.6kW for Gen 1 hybrid, 3.6kW for Gen 2 hybrid, 3.0kW for AC3.

The grid import is a "handshake" so that the inverter knows the current grid voltage and frequency, something it needs to do to operate correctly

@Penny_S I wouldn't worry about that grid draw - what you are seeing is a "snapshot" of a particular moment in time (and it will only be refreshed every 10 minutes since you are "away". If you can get your app to be on "home" (i.e. on the same wifi network as your inverter dongle) you will see updates every 10 seconds.

We also have to contend with metering tolerances/errors, which will never be zero. I rarely see a nett zero grid draw/export on my own system and that works just fine.

Summary - looks OK to me.

I'm still learning about my new battery install. Found out that the maximum rate at which the battery can 'charge' from the panels is 2.5kwh, regardless if your generating more than that. Had me puzzled for a while why I was exporting when the battery was only 85% and 'only' at the 2.5kwh charge level in spite of 4kwh generation.
Very happy overall with the system.

PeterCornwell I have had my Gen 1 AC 3.0 charging at 2992W. Is it the hybrids that are limited to 2500W?

wrefordj depends on which Gen of hybrid inverter, but Gen 1 hybrids inverters can (dis)charge at 2.6kW, Gen 2 hybrids at 3.6 and AC3 at 3kW
