Hi,

I've had installers round twice now trying to get a new system (Hybrid Gen 3 + 9.5kW battery) working.

Serial is FA2308G791 and this briefly showed as online within the Cloud Portal.

I think subsequently an update was perfomed, and since then it has failed to connect.

We have tried various Wifi and wired connections. On each occasion I can see that the inverter has been assigned an IP by the router, and we are able to access the network settings page.

However, the network light continuously flashses blue, and the inverter is offline in the cloud. Local connections/scanning via the app also fail to connect, even when the IP is manually configured within the app.

Is it possible the update has failed and somehow bricked the inverter? Can I put this back into safe mode or somehow recover it from this state? Main light on the inverter is alternately flashing red/green. network light on the underside is flashing blue

Any help/experience appreciated....

Thanks

Geheee Give Givenergy a call. I suspect that the blue flashing light is the dongle which you don't need as the gen3 has built-in wifi but I'd opt for the wired solution (LAN). It's probably that the DIP switch to select the comms device doesn't match the device in service.

That makes sense.

So even if the device (is this just a network adapter?) appears on the network with config page, the DIP switches need to then match whichever device is in use so that the main inverter can use this?

As I say, it was working prior to the update attempt, and then it wasn't so I don't know at that point whether these switches changed, I don't see why they would have done, but I can recheck them

Have managed to update the software with a USB stick, this seems to have brought the inverter back to life and it's now happily back on the network... 🙂

I'm not sure how it managed to brick itself however, and it's a bit disappointing it can't automatically rollback or otherwise recover itself
