Morning guys, Just in the process off having a second battery installed, how do I go about getting it commissioned and up and running
New Battery

RugbyPaul ideally the installer should commission it for you to get it added to your account, but a call to GE might be able to do this for you

RugbyPaul How did it go? I’m getting my second battery installed tomorrow.
ProximusAl Are you going to run your current battery down to around 20% as suggested in a previous thread about adding a new battery?

MKICampaign I have. It’s currently at about 13% as I expect solar to start charging shortly.

I'm having a new battery installed later this month 🤞, does the new battery need to be at the same firmware version as the existing?
Thanks.

gwynnej3 yes they'll both need to be on the same version, the installer should make sure that they are

So I’ve just had my second battery installed.
I now have another 8.2 to sit beside my other 8.2 with 60 odd cycles on it.
We updated the new battery using USB to 3012 before yeeting it up into the attic so it matched my primary at 3012.
I kept my original at 20% SOC as advised, but the new battery was 0% SOC, but there was 1V between the two.
Commissioning was a bit of an issue, as the commission stated it could only see 160 out of what should be 320 Ah, but the installer called GE and they somehow got them past that. Once the commission was successful, I am now in calibration. Currently dumping to the grid, and then a 16kW fill up…..hopefully.
Will update once complete.

Well, that was a long 6 hours, but now calibrated.
Both batteries at 100% and very similar voltage..within 0.4V..at slightly different temperatures.
Updated GivTCP to reflect 2 batteries, and will monitor.
All in all…..pretty good!

Cdent Thanks.
