The notifications page periodically has a 'check connection on battery' item, which clears after about 5 minutes, eg:

Check Connection on Battery 2022-02-11 16:39:34 2022-02-11 16:45:15
Check Connection on Battery 2022-01-20 17:24:03 2022-01-20 17:29:21
Check Connection on Battery 2022-01-19 17:25:16 2022-01-19 17:30:52

Is this a real fault, which I should get my installer to investigate/ fix, or is this an artefact of the 5 minute data sample timing?

I had reported that to GE some time back and was told that it is a misreporting of the software and something that is not significant. I can't recall any details beyond that.
It happens on my system, by which I mean a couple of times each day is normal.
Would be good if the software could be corrected tostop this being reported as ignoring an error message doesn't really make me comfortable.

I had a series of these, then the inverter stopped working. Givenergy are going to replace a board in the inverter they say has blown... So? I do not think this is something to ignore?

Double check the wiring between the battery and the inverter to make sure all connections are tight?

anabanet be interesting to know if the cables were not tight in the connections and getting very hot....mine still get warm when the inverter is under full load.

Electrical things dont like hot. The smoke escapes when they get hot, and you cant get the smoke back in again. And we all know electrics runs on smoke........

Seriously - I would get the connections checked. To be tightened up a little several weeks after install would not be a bad thing.

anabanet you used to be able to get bottles of smoke from Lucas. But I think itโ€™s only compatible with classic cars and not modern wiring.

anglefire I wish I knew they were going out of stock, I would have bought some then.

LOL - I could use some of that for my Triumph Stag!

Although, contrary to all expectations, she has yet to let me down.

Having typed that, I will make sure I always have my RAC card with me in future.

I used the chat on the GE website to ask about these errors.
Quoting the response that I recieved
'this is nothing to worry about it is an error message not yet linked to anything'
'it will be automatically removed in time, yes I can confirm it is nothing to worry about'

GrahamShaul I've just asked (via the portal feature request) if it would be possible to add an event for the battery being disconnected (ie DC breaker open). I've also asked if an email could be triggered for specific events, ideally configurable by the user.
My events show Electricity Meter comm fail (during commissoning), check battery connection and BMS Under Voltage. Is there a complete list of all the events that could be logged here?

An email for events, customizable, would be a great idea
