In the last 24hrs my battery has started playing up, last night whilst I was out I noticed the battery was showing 0% on the app and when i got home the web portal was showing "Battery Low Voltage" - found the the battery trip switches had tripped. A reset of inteverter, battery and trip switches seemed to resolve it.

Today I've just got home to find the following notifications on the portal
"Battery Voltage High" & "BMS Over Voltage"
Trip switches are normal, but app is giving latest battery info as 0%

Understand its the weekend. If there is anyone from Giv who could have a look from your end, that would be really appreciated @dragon2905 would you be able to help at all?

Managed to speak to Giv on phone. They're not sure whats casting it, might be a loose connection, so they've asked me to get installer back to check connections.

BMS will remember next time not to go so high.

It has already self recovered

As for the tripped MCB. Loose wire can cause it.
Or poor connection on the orange plug.

TheDragon (GivEnergy) Thanks so much for looking, so it should sort itself out? I've had to restart the battery twice today.

Also as I'm doing a flux export, I've noticed my discharge power is now only showing max 2550w instead of the 3600 in settings. Have tried a reset to defaults, but tis still at 2550.

Don't have an orange plug on my 8.2 battery. Think it's an older model? Anyway I've emailed the installer asking them to come and check connections

On the subject of the DCMCB tripping, the installer has been back and checked all the wiring. It only happens when I’m doing a forced export (on flux) from battery. The DCMCB gets pretty warm which is why I guess it’s tripping (it’s located outside under a well ventilated cover over inverter etc).

Appreciate that export will generate some heat. Could the battery firmware help with this too? Work around seems to be to reduce the output wattage down a bit but I guess it’s designed to work at full 3600w export in reality.

MY DCMCB got warm when there was a loose connection.................... once fixed, it never did it again, and nor should it.

wilfleek it was still getting pretty warm yesterday when exporting at 3600w (& so were the cables either side of it presumably due to a level of resistance). Although it didn’t trip.

Installer has double checked all connections and said they’re all correct and done to manufacturers instructions

Spoken to Giv support and emailed installer asking them that if they’ve confirmed no loose connections then perhaps I have a faulty DCMCB which requires replacing

Capt_Rich the terminations may be bang on but if the contacts inside the MCB are less than perfect, they can still be a source of higher resistance and thus heat dissipation. Swapping out the MCB for one that does have better internal contacts along with another set of bang on terminations should make the problem go away. The reliability of the DCMCB is, I think, one of the reasons for putting a DCMCB within the later batteries. Usually a gen 2 inverter with 9.5 battery has no external DCMCB but since you have the 8.2hWh, you need the breaker
