I see the AIO has a 5 year warranty and also a 10 year battery warranty.
A few places seem to talk about the warranty being extendable to 10 years, which feels more reasonable.
Can you extend the warranty and if so how is it done? Would it need to be done by the installers or the user?

tbh, i find it very weird that GivEnergy does not extend the warranty internally and we have to rely on a purchase from a 3rd party
Which part does the 5 year warranty apply to for an AIO- the inverter in the battery unit? And what about the Gateway - is that 5 years or 10 years? My installer says their wholesaler does not (cannot?) extend the warranty, which sound a bit odd.

deepanshus Warranty first point of call is your installer. Buying it through them gives thm som margin to help compensate for their involvement in the warranty process
But they told me to go direct to GE… head ache

They’re happy to sort the rest of it for all the non-GE products.
Has anyone succeeded in getting an extended warranty with an AIO+gateway set up? And, if so, what was the cost?
My installer says his wholesale supplier does not offer the extended warranty which makes no sense as GivEnergy mention the extended warranty in their literature.

Yes, my understanding is that the AIO battery has a 10 year warranty bu the rest of the AIO and the Gateway has only a 5 year warranty which can be extended to 10 years on a further payment within 60 days of commissioning. It's not clear whether the extended warranty has to be purchased from your supplier or from any supplier. My installer says their wholesaler is not providing the extended warranty so its all a bit of a mystery.
I do wonder if the extended warranty is worth it.
If it works for ten years great.
If it breaks, you get a discount off a new inverter.
Technology may have changed quite a bit in 5-10 years.
So, pay a little bit of money in advance for something you might not need, or it might give you a discount on the replacement. Or take the risk and self insure aka put the cash in the bank and earn a little bit of interest on it.
I mean in my book if it work like that it isn’t a warranty. Other kit works for the warranty or it gets fully replaced.
What you mentioned sounds like a fair wear and tear clause on some batteries. Still not ideal as someone like Tesla just guarantee 70% or higher at year 10 so a sliding scale could be expensive to the consumer.
