Vehicle to home/ grid any idea of when it’ll happen?

I’ve read the older posts here about the Nissan Leaf being used in a trial, as a battery to charge the home/grid with Octopus.
Is anything more happening, any progress?
I am considering a 2nd hand pure electric car soon. My budget excludes a wizzy new model now or when one might come out in the next few years. The correct wall box is a question too, but more affordable.
What more does anyone know?
Will the fabled GE wall box include that functionality? Is the only way of controlling a dumb wall box to give Zappi-like functionality using home automation?

You need a V2H capable EVSE and obviously a V2H capable car. At the moment I believe that the Quaser is the only one available in the UK.market. very spendy at about £5K

The GE unit is not V2H capable.

It’s all of the inter compatibility that bothers me, the wallbox quasar now on offer uses ccs2 which is an interface for prestige cars whereas the more affordable Leaf in the trial uses chademo.
And that’s just the physical connection never mind the control interfaces.

I think Solar Edge have also announced one, though not for UK market yet, so they're coming. Slowly.

Thanks Arron for both posts.
It doesn’t look as if there’s a solution any time soon.
FYI the response from Wallbox
Hi Judith

Hope you are well!

Unfortunately, the Quasar 2 model is still in development and therefore there is no set price that can be shared at the current moment.

Moreover, there is no set release date but it is expected to be released at the end of this year or early next year.

Kind Regards,
