Does GivEnergy work with IFTTT. It wouls seem a far more capable of charging the battery using the Icropus tariff than the in-built automation which appears to switch on once in the day rather than everything the unit cost goes below a certain value

DavidMyers not, it's not in there natively. You could use NodeRed if you want something stand alone, but a few of us use Home Assistant or Octopus R&D for automations

Thanks - I will see if I can work out Home Assistant - is this easy to set up and are there any dummies guides fir setting it up with my battery anywhere.

Alternatively is there anyone who would be willing to give me dome pointers

DavidMyers the answer depends on which Octopus tariff you are using. Battpred works for Agile tariffs, PALM/the Smart Charge HA plugin is simpler to configure for Go/Cosy.
