Time of use Billing

Thinking of changing to a time of use tariff but wondering how the billing works. If the tariff is based on a simple normal/peak/cheap rate then I would expect the monthly bill to show x kWh used at normal rate, y kWh used at peak rate and z kWh used at cheap rate (although I don't actually know if this is how these bills are presented and someone may be able to enlighten me).

My question is what happens when the tariff is based on half hourly variable pricing. Do you get a bill at the end of the month showing the amount of energy used in each (up to 1488) time slot together with the rate applying (again up to 1488) to each time slot giving up to 2.2 million sub totals; which seems unlikely. Or is it perhaps the case that you just get a total figure to pay and have to take it on trust that it has been calculated correctly. My guess is that the truth lies somewhere between the two and I would be interested to learn from anyone on this type of tariff what sort of detail is presented on their bill.

With Octopus you get an averaged out price in the summary, then a page per day in the PDF bill with the usage, cost and rate for each half hour. Plus a graph per day too at the top of the page.

Found another one, EDF Go Electric 35

I think the EV tariffs at EDF are duel fuel so you have to transfer electric and gas. Bit of a shame really as the 35 tariff at 4.5p in the early morning is very attractive.
