Hello all,
First post on forum and hoping that our system is working ok. New system installed early June ‘23 Givenergy 9.6 kWh battery, with 3kW inverter. On checking Givenergy app this morning our battery capacity would seem to have ‘fallen off a cliff’ around 03:00hrs.
All responses gratefully received.

There are new BMS firmware out there that are supposed to reduce this happening.

There are a few threads on here as this has/had been a long running issue.

loony Hopefully there was an update button on that page to, What you've experienced there is the "SOC" bug.
As Kram said there is new firmware coming / out already that should help reduce this.

Thanks for the responses. My mistake from earlier in that software version is 3012.
I’m thinking that as it’s been recently installed that this the latest update and from what I’m reading it would seem that this is an issue that is ongoing. Therefore I am wondering what my options are. If, as it would seem I’m possibly not alone in this, what have people done to resolve it happily.

loony 3013 is (I believe) being prepared for upload to the portal. This has additional improvements that keep the battery in calibration, even if it doesn't drop below 40% regularly (which causes the SoC drops.in 3012). I've been running the beta version of it )and now 3013) for quite a while and it's another massive step forward.

There’s more battery updates that have been recently tested. 3013 is now being made available to some people as a result. Assume it will be on the portal to be download by everyone soon.

There’s also inverter updates to come for some hardware. Gen 3 and 2 hybrid already done I believe. Gen 1 hybrid more complicated (as some will need a hardware change). AC3 I think almost ready too.

Thanks again for all your support. I’m feeling so much better now in the knowledge that this in all likelihood will be resolved.🙏.
I’ll contact installer tomorrow to raise issue and also Givenergy.
Thanks again .

loony If you give Giv Support a shout they should be able to push 3013 to you remotely. 🙂

Hi all,
Response from Givenergy support;
this can occur due to a firmware error, the n ext release version 3013 should resolve this and will be available on the portal to download within a few weeks.
Let’s hope that the next few weeks are just that!
