Does the inverter stop working if the dongle is disconnected?

As a semi-technically-competent user, today I had a dongle connection problem which meant it was disconnected for several hours, and had to be reset and set-up afresh. That is now done. However the system data now appears to show that the solar energy was limited to the level (about 1.5kW) at the point at which the dongle went off (despite the sun being fully out for much of the day). Does that mean that the inverter was actually only converting 1.5kW, or was it converting all that was available but the system was unable to monitor the variations whilst the dongle was disconnected?

MartinWalden the inverter will have been following its last instructions before the signal was lost. The PV and Battery will have been working as normal.
The portal graphing simply joins the dots between the last known points hence you get weird straight lines if the Internet is down for extended periods. Just a quirk.

The inverter keeps working. The inverter doesn't store any history, so the dongle must send data to the portal, which stores it. No dongle = no history.
