My system has been working perfectly for the past few months with solar generating and storing excess, exporting it to the grid at peak rate, and topping up to 90% at off peak rates. I'm on the Octopus Flex tarrif and the last two nights battery has not topped up at night??? Any suggestions?

Plenty of posts on this.
What products.
How are you controlling charge and discharge cycles.

My Gen1 hybrid, I started using GE portal, but only single timed charge slot and after timed export the Eco reset does not work.
Went to Octo R&D but found signal from Octo servers to GE servers and on to my inverter somewhat unreliable. I did have Eco reset (I think) working but it then appeared to stop. I may be wrong?
Went to Home Assistant as it pretty much can do whatever you want and as it is a server on home network, it is not subject to vagaries of Octo & GE servers or the internet.

I'm trying to do exactly the same as you.
What settings do you use?
I'm a new user and am struggling to decide what settings/configuration to use.
The forced timed charge from the grid seems obvious, i set it for2 hours with Octopus Flux, but the last two nights it didn't charge.
Givenergy have not replied to my email asking how to configure the system. I also want to force discharge a small amount [ about two kW ] to take advantage of the high export rates around tea time.

Any thoughts, advice or your experience would be welcomed.

These are the settings I use.

The settings can be accessed via the big * shape at the top right of the dashboard page.

Thanks, my Charge and discharge power is 2600 W, but otherwise I have replicated your set up.

we'll see what happens

Interestingly if I look on web version of the app, you get two discharge options

**1. Time discharge and

  1. Timed export**
I have used the timed export option, this says
This mode will hold your battery power and discharge it at full power for the period you define.
I don't want to hold the charge, I want the system to function normally and then make the discharge
    The timed discharge option

This says it will discharge the battery to your home during the period you define.
I want to discharge to the grid not he home, but I will try your suggestion and see what happens

The App and web site do not agree with each other, from what I can see.

Thanks again for your reply: I will try your suggestions via the app and see what tomorrow brings

Timed Discharge doesn't work properly AFAIK. The system will not revert to Eco mode at the end tlof the discharge period and you may find that you battery will fully discharge. It may also prevent charging.

Correct. Eco does not work after timed discharge/export!

Zakalwe Yep, known issue, we had to introduce a fix for this in our service too. Which is now reverting correctly after timed export for Giv users.

Early days, but the timed discharge appears to have worked and the system has reverted back the normal ECO mode . Lets see if the battery charges overnight. Fingers crossed!!

Thanks for everyone's contributions to the topic, much appreciated
