I have sonal panels installed on the flat roof on the loft of my house. Yesterday the weather was so windy that I could hear the concrete blocks moving up there. I was really scared as there are not fixed (they were sliding on the roof). Does anyone know how it works? is it safe? Thank you.

Yesterday’s winds were bad but nothing compared to the autumn/winter winds.

Suggest you get the installer back as it sounds like there needs to be a better security of the system.

Alvarez21 That could end up as an electrical hazard if stuff is moving...

Alvarez21 They should not be moving - full stop!

This is what I would expect as it reduces wind lift from the rear and allows for a lot of mass per panel.

Concrete blocks might be ok on low roof in a sheltered location, but I (as a non expert) would be surprised if they provide enough mass for a number of panels unless they’re so heaving you’d struggle to get them up.

Consider the damage they will do to the roof surface if they are moving too.
