Charging the battery from the Grid at night using cheap tariff

I use Octopus Flux.
During the summer months there is ‘normally’ sufficient light to fully charge my battery, but come the winter this rarely happens.

Therefore, during the winter months I would like to charge my GivEnergy battery using Octopus Flux cheap import tariff.

Can I program the system to import to battery during 2am and 5am. If so, how do I do this please?

The hope is that I can use my battery to get me through the expensive tariff rate of 4pm to 7pm.

Your help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Simple solution, though there are lots of posts on this if you search, including peak rate timed discharge with flux etc.

If you want to do more complicated things, you may want to take a look at Octopus RD which has a built in scheduler (but some limitations) or even Home Assistant.
The beauty of HA is it is a server (Pi or similar) at home on your home network and so you dont have to worry about vagaries of Octo servers, GE servers or the internet to issue commands.

Hi Mark, I have been thinking the same as you. I am going to charge cheap rate and also reserve a percentage of my battery to use in the higher rate at tea time using the “battery” option in settings lower on the list in the pic above.
