AIO Warranty Extension?

Hi, we're having an AIO and Gateway installed next week, and I've just heard about the possibility of extending the warranty (on the battery unit only I think) from 5 years to 10 years. However I can't seem to find any information about how I actually do this and how much it costs? Anyone have any links or info on this?

And, is it accepted as a Good Idea to extend the battery warranty when possible, or is it more like those "new fridge, buy an extended warranty for loads of money" type scams that Currys etc try to pull?

I thought inverter was 5 battery was 10 and you could extend inverter… tbc I guess.

Barns You don't do it, your installer does, have them confirm they are going to fill the paperwork out.

Jellybaby Ok I'll chase them, is there an additional cost then though? Like, does GivEnergy charge to extend the warranty or is it automatic when some paperwork is completed?

Yes you will need to pay for the warranty extension for the GivEnergy inverters from 5 years to 10 years on the AIO. But as Jellybaby said it must be completed by your installer.

On completion of the paperwork Givenergy will load the certificate onto the Givenergy Cloud portal so that
installers/customers can access the document and it will change from standard to extended within the dashboard.

For my AC couple Inverter the cost was £200 to extend to 10 years, but this payed by my installer as he offered a 10 year warranty for his work.

For your battery it is 10 year as standard

My installer said it is £450+ vat and extends the warranty on both the battery and the gateway.

Kwaka ok, thanks! Very strange how we get different numbers and coverage from different installers. I'm still very confused to exactly what's covered by standard and what is possible to extend!
