Anybody got an idiots guide for setting this up, I tried following "Speak to the geeks" videos but just wasn't seeing the same stuff they were and I was trying my best to get my head around it but I just couldnt get it working at all.

Never used HA before but trying to get used to it, I have mqtt on and I hope set up right and got givtcp on but I just cannot seem to get it to work.

I am supposed to be connected to them via wifi but I believe they are showing up as separate entities when I search for wifi locations and I saw a post about the dongles but none for the two letters associated with the AIO unit am I supposed to do something with those.

I didn't get any documentation or info from installers, assuming because units were new all I got was a manual for the string inverter.

I have HA running as a VM

Is the inverter connected to the same network as your VM?

Is the inverter using ethernet or WiFi? If wifi, the dongle setup guide is here: https://kb.givenergy.cloud/article.php?id=1

There's a set of dip switches that are used to configure it to use WiFi or ethernet. Search the site for dip switch for more info.

As for home assistant, did you see the config side of the GivTCP add-on? There's a toggle for AIO, among other things to enter.

Unless it's changed in last few days you need to run a Dev build of Givtcp - the live versions don't work with the AIO as the comms protocol is different.
