Batteries SOC continue to have wide divergence

I have 3 x 8.2kw batteries. Battery firmware 3012
Hybrid 5kw Gen1 inverter. Firmware updated in June

Recently batteries were run down to minimum overnight and showed:
Aggregate SOC 4%
Primary 8%
Battery1 14%
Battery2 7%

There seem to be significant divergence at both ends of empty/full ... and in between.

is this considered normal? not sure if it means that capacity is being impacted at both ends so that true usable capacity is less as a result?

Have reported to Givenergy Support but no response

Tim Adams Last thing I heard/read is that "online" pack balancing is currently WIP and coming in a future, see the attached doc stating:

"Remaining issues

  1. Multi Pack (Inter Pack) online balancing: Not yet implemented."

Offline balancing is stated as working

I have two 8.2kW batteries and like you the SoC values are nonsense but the battery voltages are aligned. On FW 3013 and OCV does work as expected. The battery SoC values goes back to the calibration process where one battery has 172Ah and the other 159Ah at the same voltages (160Ah nominal).

My 2 batteries haven't been that bad but over the last few days they have just got further and further apart. One is currently 61% and the other is only 37% with the overall SOC at 48%...doesn't seem great to me.

anyone have any views on the 3013 Firmware? what it does and whether worthwhile upgrading? any risks?

My history on firmware upgrades has not been great - last year resulted in a battery board failure and this year inverter upgrade resulted in a failure of inverter. Both cases requiring engineer visit and losses

judgepd On 3013 here and the gap between batteries continues to grow with no sign of any corrections occurring. Now at over 30% difference (chart tracks the gap in SOC).

judgepd Have you done any forced offline periods to see if they correct?

chris_p yes, I left it idle for a few hours a couple of days ago and it didn't do anything.

I have 2 9.5kW Ge Batteries. the second installed 4 months after the first.
The newer battery was installed as the slave and I had fairly wide SOC differences, I also had one battery dropping to zero SOC occasionaly.

As an experiment I switched the newer battery to master and the older battery to slave by both Dip Switches and physical cables from the AC3.0 inverter.

Since switching Master & Slave a month ago I have not seen either battery show Zero SOC and the tracking is usually within 5% (currently Master 61% 53.1V and Slave 59% 52.8V).

gwynnej3 you can find it through the Givenergy App. On android I can click on the aggregate soc on home dashboard... takes me to Battery Graph.... click on "More Information"

Can also be seen via web in Givenergy Cloud I expect.

Also useful to use "Monitor for GivEnergy Inverter" app ... Andrew Miller privately developed but available free .. also has SOC by battery
