This has been mentioned elsewhere, but there seems to be a problem with the new version (v3.3.0) of the mobile app. When in home mode, the data displayed (every 10 seconds) is being logged to the portal.

This is easy to see, just run the app for a minute, and check the inverter tab. Select system data, then sort the time (another new bug) to descending.

Are others seeing this?

Rubikcube Yes, seeing it on our system too.

Rubikcube And us! I expect @TheDragon (GivEnergy) would want to back out of that improvement to save their cloud servers getting too much traffic and data.

Tim Servers are fine.

The higher resolution is good for automations.

The number of users with the app always open, is low. We are not overly concerned. The natural refresh will go to 1 min at some point anyway

TheDragon (GivEnergy) Thank you for acknowledging the issue. I can understand that it is not high priority, and might be quite challenging to fix. However fixing it properly could have many benefits.

In fact, in home mode, the app has always sent data to the portal. The change is that the app is now sending VALID data, whereas previously it was invalid and rejected by the portal. Hence there is no increase in network traffic.

The portal must send back an acknowledgement of the data it receives (valid or not), and failing to receive acknowledgements can cause the app to halt and the dongle to flash. Hence the app in home mode needs a good connection to the portal! This is one reason why home mode can be flaky.

Fixing it properly may require changes to the app, and the inverter firmware, and possibly the portal. But there is scope here for improving the reliability of the app if done well.
