Hi, We have recently had a solar system fitted to our house. It’s a 10 panel array, Giv-HY36 inverter and a Giv-Bat5.2 battery. As I like to know what all the switches and controls do I have looked at my system and most of it is obvious apart from the On/Off button on the side of the battery. It doesn't feature on the schematic diagram supplied. Does this completely isolate the battery from the output / input terminal? I would assume so but I like to be certain.
Thank you

It does 'what it says on the tin'. It switches the battery off - power it down. The inverter will not see it at all until it is powered on again.

Thank you for your very prompt reply. Does it discharge to battery completely so that terminals are safe?

Digger no it won't discharge the battery - it'll just make it so the inverter can't see/use it

And you have to press and hold it for a few seconds to actuate it to off or on. You'll hear a beep.
