Intelligent or Flux

I have a 6kW solar array, with a battery 9.5kW I have been on Octopus intelligent as I also have a BMW i3; which we charge at night every 2-3 days. I tend to charge my battery overnight benefitting from the low rate from Intelligent Octopus (!p per kW) Looking at my figures from May 01 to 31/07 it seems that I exported about 1600kWh to the grid! I have an energy efficient new build with a 10kW Heat pump for my heating and DHW
What would be best for me Intelligent or Flux?
Thank you

Will depend on exactly how many miles you do. I have very similar solar system, I do about 18,000 miles per year in my Tesla and works out flux in summer (slightly negative bills currently even with EV charging which is nice!) and I'm sure it will be intelligent in the Winter to charge car and battery at the very cheap rate.

Thank you. We just use the car for running around town about 8000 miles a year. Can you change from Flux to Intelligent easily?

At this point in the year I suggest staying on intelligent, but consider Flux end of march/april next year. You can change easily with a click, or phone octopus.

Both times I have changed tariff with Octo it has crashed my data readings and taken lots of complaints to get things working. Still no readings since 1st July when the new Flux rates were "sent out"

Has anyone tried Octopus Agile for import and export? Curious as to how well the GE kit manages for dynamic daily / half hourly prices or whether you have to effectively tweak it yourself / use a third party app to control…

Shame GE can’t quite sort out scheduled Export as it fails to return to dynamic mode afterwards, has to be switched manually to avoid grid imports!
Stupid in my opinion not to get this sorted!

Some apparently use home assistant with raspy pie to sort , but it should be in the package!

There is some suggestion that Octopus may provide a solution by having octopus intelligent flux Tarrif that will sort it !
Just seems a strange way to go !

DDunn That's NOT encouraging re GE not syncing well with Octopus given the marketing produced to date...

I'll start with Agile for Import, add Agile for Export once I get my DNO paper work, and then see how long (cough) summer lasts before considering moving to Go for the winter.

Thanks re home assistant - I'll take a look at that. Given my EV is on a wifi plug I'll need a solution to control charge times vs cheap prices regardless, as I suspect setting charging period a day in advance will quickly get rather tiresome!
