Hello
I searched online but couldn't find anything for my gen2 inverter with a WiFi address starting WG. I have today changed broadband provider and now need to change the WiFi to connect to my inverter. Every search online seems to be for a WiFi dongle. Unfortunately, I do not know the password to connect to the WiFi set up on the inverter as this has not been left by the installers. Thanks

Tobyfreeborn Would have been a lot simpler if you changed the new Wifi user and password to be the same as the old one. Not all can to be fair as some have stricter password policies.
Other than that I don't know as I have a dongle which you can reset.

Hi, You need to search for a GivEnergy document online - WiFi Comms Guide_Feb22
Unfortunately I'm unable to load a copy of it here for you.
If your installer has left your Inverter unsecured then the username and password may be unchanged from admin.

Thanks. The user manual seems to be for WE WF & WF dongles however mine is a WG? I assume it's a similar set up so will try and reset it. Thanks again.

If you have not secured it yet just look for something on your mobile that starts with a W that is unsecured, you will have to connect to the dongle manually and access its settings.

The username and password to access the dongle will be admin/admin unless changed.

I am not sure what media can be posted here but there are recent videos on reconnecting.

Or if you don't want to go through that hassle you can do as anglefire said and just rename your wifi ssid in router page to be same name as your old network.

But as I said you will have to do this via wifi on a PC or a mobile phone and connect to it directly before accessing its settings page.

Problem being that I do not know the password on the inverter connection (I've tried using the serial number but that doesn't work). Can't find a reset button for the connection on the inverter as it is just an aerial not the dongle. Any other ideas before I try calling GE would be really appreciated. Thanks again

Tobyfreeborn Did you try all lower case admin/admin as username and password
