
I have considered so many options for inverter cooling and have settled on the following which gives me fully automatic cooling at a cost of £54
I have bought a "4YourHome Electric Radiator Fan" this is designed to sit on a domestic water filled room radiator and blow the heat into the room.
The great thing is that it is the same width as an AC3 inverter and is very low profile being a horizontal fan.

It has two speed settings but at the fastest speed its no whirlwind however it seems to be enough. I have sited it below the inverter with the air blowing up, it is just sat on two right angled brackets at a distance of 12cm so as not to obstruct the passive air cooling ability of the fins.
To make it automatic I have purchased a "Seamuing Thermostat Socket 13A 230V" at £14
It has 1.8 lead to a probe which i have simply clipped to the top of the inverter fins.
The temperature variation between the probe and the inverter data ranges between 7°c for less than 1kwh charges/discharges and 11°c at charge / discharge rates of 2.5kwh. where the probe is always lower than the internal inverter temp.
At a charge of 2.5kwh the probe measures an increase of .1°c per second with the fan off and drops at about the same rate with it on.
With the ON temp set at 40°c and off set at 34°c the inverter temperature has hit 46.6°c maximum over a few days.
