Hi im pretty new to GivEnergy and Solar.
I have set my battery to export between 4-7pm each and when i went into today again, it looks as though i had to enable it so that it would do it again today. I assumed once set it would continue until disabled, but this does not seem to be the case or am i missing something in the settings? Help please.
Also it looks as though the same thing applies to when i want to charge my battery at the Cheap Octopus rate, i have to enable it each time..
Lastly, i only seem to be able to do any of these functions when i log into the cloud, whereas i would prefer to do it on the App especially if i have to enable it every day.
Any help or advise is much appreciated.
Ian
Do i need to enable battery Export each??
You can press the settings icon in the top right of the home screen on the app and set the discharge time to scheduled. Make sure it's set to full export not house load

The export needs to be enabled in the app each day unless you're using HA. If you don't know how to do it, in the app, go to the menu (top left), settings, preferences, show quick settings ^ and switch it on.
Back on the main screen, click the play button and choose the battery- icon. That will force discharge the battery. When you want to stop it, click the battery- icon and choose the play icon. I set alarms at 4pm and 7pm on my phone to remind me.
Hope this helps!
Tim thanks, once i turned my phone sideways i could activate the buttons lol. I assume forced discharge means the same as Battery Export as i obviously want to export it to the grid so that i receive the enhanced payment from Octopus? Is this correct.?
Like you i had already set up alarms on my phone to monitor the situation.
Regards
Ian
Ian.Thompson Yes Ian, forced discharge is the same as battery export. Import, if you wish to do that, between 2-5am should be able be set up in the portal, since most people aren't awake at that time. I think you can do it in the app too, though I haven't needed to do that yet. Go into the top right hand cog and change 'solar' to 'solar +grid' then set up the timings. Good luck with it all.
Ian.Thompson Ian, what version of inverter do you have ? I have a gen2 hybrid, and it can be set to do the same thing every day, no need to reset it....
justpassing Hi, yes i have a Gen2 as well and it looks as though it is saving the settings now.
Thanks.
On a gen 1 you also have to toggle eco mode off and on again in the portal or home assistant once you've pressed the play icon in the app.
I'll be automating this soon in HA as I'm bored doing it after just 2 days!
