NooB question - Octopus Agile

Hi,

I have -
4kw Solar PV (installed 2010)
GivE 9.5kw battery & gateway inverter (installed in feb)

I have been monitoring and playing about with the GivE with fascination.

I joined Octopus as soon as the smart meter was fitted in March. Yesterday, they have finally managed to get me onto the agile tariff 😢 I missed out on all that lovely sun in June

My question now is, can the GivE be attached to the Octopus API to maximise charge and discharge opportunity to achieve the best savings on the bill?

BlackJake if you enter your details into the Smart Tariff card on the portal there should be an automation option for this, alternatively look into Octopus R&D which hands control over to them

Cdent To be clear, Octopus R&D is just an automation platform to control your GivEnergy inverters, you define the schedules and what you want to happen when, you’re not handing over complete control to Octopus.

You might want to also look at Home Assistant for more powerful monitoring and automation

geoffreycoan ah, I don't use R&D so not fully sure what it can/can't do, but Home Assistant would be best then

Cdent intelligent flux is the tariff where you give them control

This says IOF will save £450 against standard rates but I wonder how it will perform against Flux plus HA?
