I upgraded my inverter firmware to 3013and it has started giving over voltage notifications. Since the first ne the others have all followed 4 days apert at pretty much the same time - any ideas why?

Anything to help me understand what's going on would be great

It may be worth looking at what the grid voltage was at that time. It is selectable on the power graph screen.

killythebid I wasn't charging from the grid so not sure how that would affect things but the grid voltage was 246 volts on each occasion. Just odd that it is on a repeating 4 day cycle at pretty much the same time each time it has happened.

Dravinger Its normally when one of the cells in your pack gets a little to full, it takes its self offline to stop charging and doing damage. You'll need 3rd party tools (GivTCP) or GivSupport to accuratly track it for you tho.

Dravinger It may be nothing to do with the grid but not charging from it does not mean the system is unaffected by the grid voltage being high. when I say high I mean above 253v. I found the system got into all sorts of issues when the voltage was running high.

A voltage of 246v is fine anyway, it was just a thought and worth checking.

Same issue here. Started on 3013. Over voltage leading to SOC drops and battery sticking on idle. - not good at all really.
For me issues occur late afternoon when battery at 100% charge- grid voltage seems constant at 240v.

IanW thanks for the point in the right direction. Looking at the battery data graphs it does appear to happen around the time the battery reports back as being 100% charged. It will be interesting to see if it does it again on the 25th August...

Just had to restart inverter again as Bms High voltage at 16:00 which idled the battery and used the draw from grid until rebooting via remote control.
Starting to get regular since latest update .Will Monitor again before raising with GE.

How did you get guys on with this issue, we have had a battery stuck on idle after BMS reporting over voltage. Tried unsuccessfully to kick it back to life. Plan to charge with separate charger to get it back to 50 volts currently sitting at 0 although I'm not sure the unit is actually dead.

Still getting the issue but rebooting still fixes it .
Just means am exporting more not ideal but summer is nearly over so wont be an issue .

Dualelectrical I have seen one or two reports of them getting stuck/locked up (beyond the " set it to discharge and it comes back") thing.
I believe (with supports blessing/oversight) you can disconnect the supply to the BMS and force a cold boot.

I vaguely recall the 9.5 BMS is ever so slightly different, but I forget why exactly I think that.

hobbes1966 is your battery soc dropping at the same time to?

IanW, just had my first instant this afternoon of BMS over voltage, combined with %SoC plummetting from 100% to 0% and the battery going idle.

Like you on battery BMS v3013.

Also have noticed the reported battery capacity has dropped from 9.5 to 6.4 kWh.

I am not at home at moment so can only remotely do an inverter restart, and as the sun has gone down am now drawing from grid at peak rate.

What are you doing or what conditions cause the battery to restart?

Battery SOC maxs out at 96%.....Bms kicks in and Battery idles ,not charging or discharging .
Panels still power house and export .
Resetting battery via black side button reboots and Soc then jumps to 100% and all functions as should be .
Have noticed that the full battery Soc creeps down ie 96% is full next time is 94% is full and so on .
Long as Bms functions am happy as stops the battery burning out though Max voltage is 57 volts .
All this happens when battery reaches capacity so its got to be a glitch in the max settings

Same thing happened to me yesterday, BMS Over Voltage notification at 15:46 just as the battery reached the 100% SOC. Grid voltage was 251v. Not happened before that i am aware and only since BMSv3013.

Simon_C, note to self and for info.

After around 12 hours of battery and BMS over voltage, the battery self recovered. The temperature dropped overnight and the mostly 31 W discharge reduced the voltage sufficiently.

The battery capacity on the portal returned to 9.5 kWh from 6.4 around the same time as the recovery to 100% SoC.

Manually discharged to grid for a few hours to reduce the battery %SoC and reduced the charge power so it will be a lot later in the day when %SoC reaches 100%.

Is it something to do with v3013 combined with increasing temperature with the battery at 100% for a long period?
