Not sure I've seen this widely published (don't recall seeing a "What's new" post in ages) however I see that the portal account security pages have had a revamp (Account Settings > Manage Account Settings) with some quite useful changes.
Now I'm unaware of anything making use of these yet but it does open doors to more integrations with 3rd parties:
You can now generate multiple API keys (to give "something" control over your system)
As part of that process you can now specify how long the key lasts but also just what kind of access that key has (so you can limit just how much data or control you hand over)

On top of that in the main accounts settings you appear to be able to create delegate user accounts to allow them to view your system. This too appears to have levels of access/control that can be set to allow things to be off limits. Again this may be useful for some people:

This could be for things like the Octopus Tariffs that allow them to control your charge/discharge of the battery - you wouldn't really want to give full system access (Well I wouldn't!) but only the access they need.

And delegate for multiple users if that was ever an issue I could see some benefit as well?

anglefire yeah plenty of people have asked if there's a way to setup their partner with a read only account.

Perhaps the same for kids too - if they're interested in tech but you don't want them breaking the thing. 🤣

I'm actually on Intelligent Flux but rather than giving it an API key I had to go through an auth using my username and password. Seemed a little odd way around of doing it when this was here but I guess they have their reasons.

Has anyone managed to get Octopus R&D controlling their Inverter since the new API tokens?
I just get 'Error Can't receive data from device'. It may be nothing to do with the API tokens but my R&D labs control stopped working about a week ago.

Ryggwelter I get the same error, however as I’m new to Octopys R&D I thought it might have been caused by me having enabled 2FA on my GivEnergy account, I haven’t had time to test this theory though…

no mines dead - same error so guess it's Octopus side. I'll drop them a message on their forum.
