We're looking into having all the work done to have backup power available in case of outage. We are interested in manual switchover to the whole house as our background energy is well within the maximum output capacity (varies between 150-500w).
We have our inverter and battery in the garage next to the house, the meter at the front of the house (on the inside) and our circuits are all inside the house in a cupboard in the living room. So it's not a straightforward job.
Our usual electrician is quoting us £600-£700 for the work, including all the equipment and earthing in the back garden.
Being totally inexperienced with this, I have no idea if this is a fair amount? Has anyone else done similar work?
