Scheduled charge and discharge

I am new to this and had battery installed recently. I set up the scheduled discharge to be out side EV Go tariff time slot (00:30 to 04:30) but noticed that the system had still drawn power from the battery.

I also charging to be solar + grid set this schedule to be during the EV Go time slot (00:30 to 04:30) but then found the battery was not charging during the day.

Basically I do not want the battery to discharge during cheap tariff time slots and only to charge from the grid during the cheap tariff time slot.

Any help on this would be appreciated. [

Depending on what kit you have, scheduled discharge doesn't always work properly

Best to reset to defaults, then setup a timed charge for the go period, and a percentage you want it to end up at at the end of the timed charge (it'll either charge to that or discharge to that as appropriate).

If you want to do complicated stuff like timed discharge or timed export then you'll probably need something off the GE platform to get it working properly - like home assistant or PowerShell/Python etc.

KKT Don't use scheduled discharge! That discharges the battery and prevents it charging during the hours you specify. Set the inverter to ECO mode which minimises grid import/export by diverting surplus PV to charge the battery and discharging the battery to meet house load when PV isn't enough. You can overlay a timed charge to coincide with your EV charging period when the battery will discharge down to the Charge to % if it start the time slot at a higher value, or charges up to the Charge to % if it is lower. Once the battery is at the Charge to %, it should go idle. During the timed charge period, all house load is supplied from grid. At the end of the timed charge period, the inverter reverts to ECO mode.

It still drew charge from the battery to meet the household demand between 00:30 and 04:30. I will have another go but will disable the ‘eco-mode’ which appears to stop it drawing from the grid.

Also should I have enabled ‘smart meter’?

I had left the upper charge limit at 4% - have corrected that. So fingers crossed. 🙏

Don’t turn eco off, unless you don’t want the battery to charge from solar!
