I find my iboost+ works ok with battery system. It does sometimes "grab" excess quicker than the Inverter - usually happens when the sun is continuously appearing and disappearing behind clouds, but once the inverter starts up this seems to resolve. It does require I think a more recent iboost model (2017?) that allows the user to set a higher export threshold.

Yes, I have the 2016 one. They then sold me a Sender250. Which all it does is dumb down teh CT readings, to fake a lower import/export. Which throws the reading way out on teh Buddy display. It still doenst work and grabs toe power faster. Once it locks on, teh battery plays 2nd fiddle. So now after a properly integrated solution. For now teh iBoost is off, till such time as there is enough sun to charge batts to 100% and then surpluss. Which will probably be by end of April.
I’ve given up on a GivEnergy hybrid solution on the basis that diverters, particularly EV chargers can’t easily decipher when it’s solar and when it’s pulling from the battery.
AC seems to be the way around this.
kram I have a hybrid and a diverter. You are correct, the system does get confused a little as ct on grid trails does not know if energy is coming from pv or battery.
GE system does overrun on generation from battery when load in the house drops..that can make the diverter ramp up and the system goes into a negative feedback loop as that shows as house demand so battery releases more power.
My answer...
Use local monitoring to check pv and soc. I only switch on the diverter if pv greater than 1kw and soc greater than 95%.
Since I have done that it's worked perfectly
kram We don't have a diverter but we've set the Zappi to delay charge start until export exceeds 1.4kW for more than 30 seconds. That seems to give the inverters time to adjust to moving clouds and variations in house load. Once started, the Zappi seems to be very responsive in Eco+ mode to the export value, diverting all export in excess of 1.4kW (minimum charge for Zappi) up to the maximum 7.2kW, leaving a residual export of (I think) about 50W. Of course, it works best when the EV is plugged in and needs charging! This means that the house batteries get first priority, the EV is second (usually after lunchtime when the batteries have fully charged) and anything else gets exported.
I installed an iBoost over the weekend. Early days yet, but it seems to work OK with the threshold set aty 200W. I may raise it a bit more if it starts to misbehave.

I may have to buy a new iBoost. As there is no news from GE on their own product, which I would actually prefer. @Adam-Reynolds (Any news on this)
So it can at least communicate with the invertor and let it know the draw. So this can be identified separately on the graphs

Given up waiting on the GE diverter, getting a quote in at the moment for 2 Zappis.

will raising the threshold setting stop that?
I've set mine to 250W and it seems to stop it, though every now and then I see bursts of grid usage in the night. Not too sure what it is, though in the grand scheme of things they are short duration. Pennies in the grand scheme of things.
