Yep this is very welcome news indeed, SEG was paying way too little before, this is a lot more reasonable.

Those who have had the email, how long is it taking to switch?

To answer my own question: I received the notice email 2 days ago (12th 8am) and the change took affect today (14th
2pm)

My price changed with in two days of the email also.......increase is a step in the right direction 😃

I still don’t understand why those on Intelligent Octopus can export at 15p, while those on Octopus Go only get 4.1p 8p.

Car charging is done when octopus decide it’s cheapest for them/greenest. I imagine in some windows they’re making money and you’re paying 7.5p per kWh also.

No, not at all.

I presume it is because they want people to move to iO for the good of the grid long term

With IO they can control when your car charges, e.g. extra time slots etc.

So if demand is high they can help reduce the demand, spread things out a bit. And if it's going to be windy at a certain point, again they could schedule some cars to charge then.

26Left Not directly. But IO is setup in such a way, that you will be crazy to go against it.

What I mean is you get night rate of 7.5p/kWh import, so in effect IO is paying you to charge from them. And also they are paying you 15p/kWh to export to them during the day (assuming that you have already charged everything else up to the brim).

Go customers now pay 9.0p/kwh instead of 9.5p/kwh between 0030 & 0430

Mines just gone from a 12 month fixed deal (7.5p) to the new variable go (9.5p), then down to 9p as of tomorrow morning.

Better than nothing I guess!

TX200 Oh cool, I've just switched to the Eon Drive tarrif at the begining of the week so i can use the 15p outgoing. Second i did that, Go export rates went up and price went down. Seriously considering switching back just for the API and customer support, tho im not sure if its worth the £100 a year extra.
