Inverter Timing Interval Irregularities

There seems to be a general consensus that the five-minute interval on the inverter performance reporting is not very useful, but has anyone else had the inverter go crazy recently and start reporting every 10 seconds? There should be about 288 reports per day, although my regular intervals tend to be 5:07, but the number usually varies for me on a Gen 3 hybrid 5kW between that and about 320 readings; twice in the past week, however, mine has become about 600 because it has been logging output every ten seconds over random time intervals. This is on FM 3012. Bug, feature or glitch?

Many threads re this. try the search.
the latest version of the app when being used sends the data back to the portal.

Beyond the known app bug, apparently installers can also set native monitoring from 5 to 1 min intervals incase anyone is wondering why theirs is doing that.

hoggy This inverter is 100 days old today, and until now has (mostly) reported every 5:07m. Today since 1:57am it has been reporting about every 20 seconds. This change of behaviour is unlikely to be installer related and the app is not and has not been running. Hence my query. I already have over 900 sets of data for today; usually around 300 for 24 hours.

ThePud not sure why they'd do it without telling you but debug mode can also be enabled by a GE engineer to up the rate to 10-20seconds?

hoggy Interesting. Thanks. Didn’t know that, but why if it has not been malfunctioning? Testing something?

ThePud I know they are swamped in support, you've not raised a ticket say weeks ago they've only just got to maybe?
I think the debug auto stops after 24hrs so I guess if it goes back by tomorrow that's the most likely reason although as for why? No idea!

hoggy no, I haven’t raised any tickets. I will see what happens tomorrow!

This has been going on for the last few months for me. Used to be every 5 minutes, but now, on some days it can get up to 3000! I was out all day today so wasn't really looking much and just checking I've got 1378.
I've a feeling it's to do with how often you are looking at data, which seems to update much more regularly if you look at it more often.
Why it's doing this I have no idea, and it's just a bit of a pain if you are looking for a certain bit of data at a certain time on a certain date.

TimHutchings 1155 data sets today but it went back to 5:07m intervals around 11:35am.

Could it be that you plugged your phone in to charge at 1:57am and unplugged it at 11:35am? I strongly suspect that the GE app is the cause, possibly doing things in the background.
