AIO goes AWOL when charging starts

Just wondered if anybody had experienced a similar isssue.

My install was commissioned today but my installer didn’t do the battery calibration so Paul @ Giv kindly kicked it off for me. When the bulk charge commenced the AIO went offline (no data reported but could still be pinged). Paul talked me through resetting the comms board on the AIO and it sprang back to life.

This evening I’ve had exactly the same issue but as it’s late, dark and lashing it down I can’t reset it, it will have to wait.

Anybody else had this? I’ve submitted a bug report already so will await GEs official response as well.

morgs Interesting, I've not had this issue with my AIO and I'm doing charges twice a day (Cosy tariff). It says "offline" occasionally on the web portal but Home Assistant keeps connection with it fine it seems. I'm using HA to initiate the force charges, not doing it using the GE app settings, and it's all connected wireless, not LAN. I wonder if it's anything to do with how the force charges are initiated?

Barns I'm not sure if morgs has exactly the same as me but when mine goes offline, it is offline entirely (i.e. Home Assistant/GivTCP is not being updated). The last updated time in HA corresponds to the exact time you started charging the battery. The only sign of life is you can still ping the IP. I have also noticed that the battery behaves as per last settings whilst it's in this state (so my house is currently being covered by battery despite me having no control over it).

Barns The other common thing from what I can see is that all the systems that go offline are LAN connected and not wifi - might be something?!

DJBenson The closest I've had to this is the AIO stopping reporting any stats to the portal/app, but I was still able to control it, look at its current status etc from the app & portal. It's not completely lost comms at all yet (fingers crossed).

Pandorian Maybe! I must admit I've been holding off on LAN despite it being my preferred connection type (I have a router and cables sitting next to it just waiting) precisely because there looked to be all kinds of config nightmares getting the LAN connection going at the time I was installed, no-one knew what DIP switch needed to do what, whether you needed the Gateway and the AIO both connecting separately to LAN, which plug in the Gateway to use (board or the dangly black thing I think?) etc etc. So I've been waiting semi-patiently for everyone else to do the hard work figuring out the best way to get LAN working 🙂

Pandorian interesting theory. I don't have any option but using LAN as my AIO is outside and we live in a stone building so connectivity at the location is patchy to non existent.

I don’t have HA and just use the app.
Last nights scheduled AIO charge starts and coms go offline within 5 mins.
Zappi charge was successful prior to scheduling the AIO charge without going offline.
Charge Power was set a 5747W.
Previous night Charge Power was set below 5kW and was successful
