Hi All, I was hoping that someone could give me a steer on whether there are any systems current or maybe coming that can handle 3-Phase Power systems. I have a house that has 1 phase that has a ASHP (Air Source Heat Pump) and another phase that provides the domestic appliance supply. Currently, I am being told that to have PV's and a Battery I need to purchase two of everything. Is there any way that I can have a single unified system that would handle the two phases as one system? If not, has anyone heard of a system that would be able to handle this? Buying two systems is prohibitive. Thanks for your consideration.

Dead easy, go Sunsynk you can install 3 x 1 phase inverters and link them as 3 phase.

Great price, performance and feature set plus battery agnostic so you can install any batteries that aren't locked into an Eco system - GivEnergy, MyEnergi (Libbi) etc

ITS are offering packages of SunSynk Hybrid Inverters paired with GSL Batteries (remember these are eTailer prices to the public and installers will get them cheaper!).

I don't know anything about GSL but the deals are certainly very competitive and they have 10 year battery warranties.

I would absolutely recommend going for 8kw Inverters over 5kw Inverters if you can afford it as this gives you fantastic house load capacity.

You have to remember that you MUST size your inverter not only for your Solar Panels but also it is the limiting factor in charging/discharging your batteries and to power your house.

In addition you DO NOT HAVE to connect solar panels to all inverters. A Hybrid Inverter will happily work with only a battery.

If you install a 3.6kw inverter then you can ONLY use 3.6kw of energy at any one time.
By having 3 x 5kw or 3 x 8kw you are now able to power your house at 15kw or 24kw maximum.

As we move towards full electrification of our houses this will become increasingly important. An electric or induction hob can use as much as 9kw with all "burners" running, an ASHP will start at 3kw and go all the way upto 20kw+ for the largest properties.

If you limit your inverter to the smallest required for your Solar PV then you will be reliant on using energy from the Grid (at the most expensive times & rates) rather then "Load Shifting" - charging your batteries for free with Solar (or at cheap rates over night) and then using this when it would be more expensive.
