My Internet went down this morning due to a power cut.
Would this effect the solar or does the Internet only required for your phone app?

The inverter will keep working to whatever it was set up to do. You'll lose the reporting for whatever period it was off.

Great, thanks for the reply.

Bear in mind that the app won't work if you have no internet so you won't be able to change any settings with it.

Its one of the reasons why many people run GivTCP or similar locally.

Vestas crazy that. I thought it would work in local mode. But last time I had an issue, it wouldn't get past the loading app screen.

As a temporary measure you could change the inverter dongle to use a mobile phone hotspot. Bit of a faff if it's not a long outage.

TX200 Its easier to have a LAN which will failover (whether automatically or otherwise) from FTTP/FTTC to 4G/5G broadband while still presenting the same internal wifi configuration, that way the inverter won't lose connection to the portal for more than a few seconds.

Vestas I've got homeassistant running locally so not too fussed about loss of internet for short periods. 😀

TX200 Same, although I do have failover to 5G from FTTP. Don't get the same results on 5G as during winter months (tree foliage I think) but still get 130Mbps down and 30Mbps up which isn't too shabby given the cells I'm connected to are 5km away....
