We are finding the GivEnergy controls frustrating and over complicated. We would like to be able to set standard instructions - a quick button to press for an overnight charge from the grid, or to stop it doing so reliably, without having to check all the settings.
Does anyone have any advice for this, and could the website PLEASE be more sensible, and the app more useale!

A long term wish would be automatic charging overnight based on the forecast, so we don't have to remember...

Jump on a tariff like Go or Flux, charge to 100% overnight and then export all generated. Its better to loose a couple of pennies per day than having to pull from the grid at a peak rate because you dont have any charge

A&N at the moment there isn’t a ready made solution out there that has these features. The quick modes on the GivEnergy app (hamburger, settings, preferences, show quick settings button) are the closest to initiate a charge or discharge now, but there isn’t a “charge tonight”, you’d have to set that up in app or portal. The app is easy enough to use, more so than the portal.
Same login details.

As hamilton says, choose a time of day tariff to make best use of the battery, but there’s no single solution as it depends on your consumption, solar size and battery size.
Economy 7 is another option if your battery will last a whole day for you.

For more powerful scheduling including charging based on next days solar prediction you need to go to something external like home assistant, wonder watt or octopus r&d
