Battery only discharging down to 20%.

For just over about two weeks now I have noticed that the threshold for the battery to stop discharging to the house has been going up.
It was at 4% a few months ago but that seemed to change to 5% at some point not so long ago but over the last week-ish it has risen from 11% all the way to what seems a stable 20% on a steady daily rise.

I've checked the setting on the inverter and it is showing the reserve is still 4%.
I did notice an inverter update, which took my inverter from D533 to D534 and has made no difference over the last couple of days.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

Yep, I recently had an issue with mine which seemed to be caused by a BMS over voltage notification. For me, the battery stopped discharging below 60% SOC. A quick chat with GE support and they were able to identify that one of the cells was out of sync with the others. It needed a new calibration cycle but seemed to resolve the problem. I’d go ahead and contact GE support so they can take a look at your system and advise on what might be causing it.

I read a firmware update changed the battery overcharge voltage to a lower value in the bms.

If this is the case and the state of charge was above this I imagine it could cause a “fault” state.

Would a discharge, reset of the battery and charge potential fix this?

To be clear I don’t know this is it, just something I read that could plausibly cause an embedded system to have a moment if you were unlucky enough to be in the wrong state.

I have exactly the same problem, my battery intially discharged to 5% then a few weeks later 8%, now it only goes down to 20%.

Can I do anthing myself to reset this back to the 4% shown in sll the app settings?

c_squared a new calibration cycle but seemed to resolve the problem.

Can I run this myself? If so how?

Arfryn to be honest, it’s best to get GE support to check your system, identify any fault and set actions to resolve.

Arfryn on the beta portal, My Inverter, select the cog icon top right for Remote Control. You can start Battery SOC calibration from here but be aware that it will dump the battery to load/grid before doing a full charge, so to minimise export you may want to do this when the battery is mostly empty, and just prior to any cheap period you have if you're on Octopus Go etc.
