Battery combinations for 3.6kW discharge rate

Can someone confirm what I believe to be correct:

  1. A gen 2/3 hybrid is restricted from 3.6kW discharge to 2.6kW discharge if just a single 5.2kWh battery is connected to it.
  2. The discharge rate of the inverter is 3.6kW if the battery is a single 9.5kWh or 8.2 kWh battery.
  3. If you have 2 x 5.2kWh batteries the inverter can discharge at 3.6kW.
    An installer says point 3. Is incorrect.

hoggy Thanks for the reply. You have confirmed what I believe regarding doubling up on the 5.2kWh batteries but I can't find it written down anywhere confiming that by doing so, the rate increases from 2.6kW to 3.6kW.

Jerry2604 currently you are limited by the discharge rate of the battery. They are usually 0.5 of the capacity. E.g. 5.2kWh battery can discharge at 2.6kW.

By adding a second battery, if* your inverter has a higher discharge rate, you then get the discharge rate of the inverter being the limit or bottleneck, rather than the battery being the bottleneck.

Some inverters like the gen2 hybrid, and I think the AC connected ones too, have a higher discharge rate than the original kit.
