I am about to have a second PV string and a second hybrid inverter installed. Will I be able to view both through a single instance of the portal on an ipad

mgweeks Yes. The portal consolidates data from both Givenergy inverters. My system is showing on the portal well and I can scroll between summary/Inverter1/Inverter2. The only place where the beta portal falls down is that (on my system) only house load from one inverter is being plotted on the power graph. The load is showing correctly on the inverter card for each inverter but isn't being summed on the power graph.

I have two separate systems with hybrid inverters and batteries and on the ios app it only shows the sum of both pv arrays and battery not separate. On the web portal accessible from a pc/mac the two systems can be seen although you have to scroll through each one to see. At present cant charge both batteries using octopus go tariff as once one is full then pushes its load to the other battery so I am charging only one battery at night. I believe some time later this year an update will allow one to be master and one slave.

szymura with multiple hybrid inverters and batteries do you get multiple times 2.6kW discharge rate?

I have got 2 AC coupled set up and both should read correct grid data but only the master will read solar data.
In the portal the master should be set to 2 meters and the slave 1 meter.
Mine seems to be behaving currently on Eco mode but odd times energy flow is from Givenergy batteries to Nissan Leaf (V2H) batteries.

dcsh With Hybrids, yes. Mine are both connected to a solar consumer unit via MCBs. This consumer unit is interconnected through the MCS meter to the house consumer unit via a single 16A T&E cable; Isolator on the solar board side and MCB at the consumer unit.

I'm hoping to subscribe to Octopus Go and charge both hybrid-connected batteries up overnight at the same time (as well as the EV if that needs it too), when they need it in the winter.

Been live a week and feeling unloved as an owner of mulitple inverters 🙁

I suspect my order size is larger than average, yet the mobile app won't show more than one (and there's no way to flip) and my dashboard usage data is fubar'd and support say 'no fix for this unfortunately .. because there is no link between the inverters..later in the year' - so i have no accurate view of the system i've invested in :0/

I'm in the same situation as took a while to get both set up and tend to use the portal to set both the same but the app doesn't always match what the portal shows. The also discharge separately.

Mal-Givenergy my issue is that i see no load usage once the batteries are charged to 100% - do you have something similar?

I am awaiting an install date for a 3 x AC3 and 3 x 8.2 plant setup. With the new portal/app are people saying that stats for multi inverter setup are basically useless and there is no way to properly monitor the system? Seems a bit worrying.

ivell Mal-Givenergy Kryten My dual inverter system has been working since the end of January. The app and the web portal are never in sync. Parts of the web portal work as I would expect (eg Power Graph sums the inverter outputs) but others not (eg Power Graph only shows house load for one inverter). However, the Inverter cards both show numbers that look right (generation and house load) for the time the data was logged. However, because the different cards update at different times, I've given up using the portal and the app for state-of-the-moment figures, just using them to look back on historical information.

There are times when the app shows, say 6kW generation, 5kW going to batteries and an export of 5kW, the balance being house load of -4kW (ie generation from our magic kettle). Of course, the house generation figure is wrong and is simply the balance of flows at a point in time but as the app only updates every 10 minutes, it doesn't make sense.

If I want to know what's happening right now, I use my Bright (Glow Stick) app from Hildebrand. Unfortunately, it doesn't currently give me export data, but does give me import, updated every 5 seconds and the myEnergi app for my Zappi which (because I installed an extra CT from the Givenergy system), shows flows, updated every few seconds. I also use Giv-tcp for my Node-RED dashboard, which isn't as pretty but I do believe.

In fairness, the Givenergy app and web portal and both not yet fully evolved and the 10 minute updates just don't help in the here and now. Both the app and web portal (IMO) deliver historical data well and promise better things, especially if the local inverter access can be sorted. The Bright app and the myEnergi app that I use are both simple in where their data comes from whereas, the Givenergy app and web portal have to be able to deal with an almost infinite number of combinations of inverters, AC coupled, batteries etc. It can't be easy to integrate different models of their equipment into a single portal/app that always works and makes sense, but I am hoping that it will all come together soon.

szymura With regards to your statement about not being able to charge both batteries using Octopus Go? What exactly is happening there? Is each battery on its own inverter? And what stops the second battery charging to 100% once the first if full? Unless I misunderstand you. Just a bit concerned before my system gets installed.

Tim my sentiments exactly. I mistakenly assumed i was buying an integrated system, but in reality it's a collection of independent devices even if from the same supplier - this makes it difficult to reconcile the data. I can happy i can see PV power, grid in/out and battery in/out - it's my usage that's incorrect.
I have an iBoost and bought an iBuddy which shows me my real time usage instead

Yep, that's why I bought the Glow Stick. It doesn't matter which meter/CT reading is "right", you pay your supplier based on the DNO meter; anything else is besides the point. Same with export, it's the DNO's export figure that matters, unless you're on FIT and use "deemed" from your MCS meter. That reminds me, having exported (according to the EM115s) about 500kWh since January, I really should get an SEG tariff sorted.

According to my DNO meter and the Bright App, we've averaged a grid import of about 1kWh/day since the middle of February, including keeping the EV charged, so although the Givenergy customer interface is not yet perfect, I am very pleased with the plant and the resulting generation we've had.

Tim Does the Glow Stick work well? I have an SMETS1 meter and looking for a good solution to integrate with Home Assistant. Are you just using their APP/IHD or integrating it into some other platform? I am thinking to correlate all the readings (solar, battery, feed/export etc) into Home Assistant and graph it all there.

Kryten You can create an account in the Bright App with your MPAN and email address. As long as your SMETS1 meter has been enrolled onto the DCC system (as all SMETS2 meters have been), you will be able to access your consumption data in 30 minute, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week and 1 month summaries for the last 13 months via API calls. There is no cost to the user for accessing this data although there obviously is for Hildebrand, the company behind the Bright App and Glow Stick. I also have a SMETS1 meter and used this method to prove to myself and Eon that my meter readings were available to them without me having to read my meter.

If you want to have access to consumption now, at 5 second updates, you will have to buy one of their devices. My Glow Stick loses its connection to the internet every few weeks but usually reconnects by itself after a short while. I can access current house load as well as all the historical data via the app at any time from anywhere with 4G or wifi access.

I use Node-RED to pull the 30 minute, 1 hour etc summaries from the Bright API and post them into InfluxDB for a Grafana dashboard that I've not yet developed properly. I think the Glowmarkt forum would be able to help with integration into Home Assistant.

Tim Thanks Tim. I have the Bright App connected to my meter and its pulling down the data ok. However it says "Tarrif not found" I only just set it up so maybe it takes some time to find it? I don't see any where to configure tariff info in the app. Not sure if you have seen this issue? I have also bought the Zigbee CAD and will request access to the MQTT feed.

Kryten I believe the tariff is posted to the meter by your supplier if they can see it. Mine updates when I change supplier and my original IHD also has the updated daily charge and rate from the meter. If your meter doesn't have the tariff, cotact your supplier and ask them if they will connect to the meter via DCC. I mentioned this to EonNext a few weeks ago and they can now read my meter remotely.

I use the Hildebrand Glow (Bright in essence) integration into Home assistant - I don't use it for the electric- I pull the data from the Inverter with GivTCP as I found the data was a bit off - it is for gas too - its 1/2hour late and missed the midnight reading - but for gas that is not relevant as I don't have the heating or hot water on then - and the chances of a midnight feast is low.
Oh and it brings in the cost - so I do record both the gas and electric cost. Works most of the time.

anglefire If you use the Hildebrand MQTT stream, you can get instantaneous data for gas and electricity (updated every 5 seconds or so) from your glow stick, just subscribe to your stick topic from the Hildebrand cloud. I agree that the giv_tcp and glow stick data differs but I'd rather go with the glow stick data as that's the value that I pay my bill for.

I do also use the Hildebrand APIs to pull down the 30 minute etc summaries to Influxdb but haven't done anything with them yet.

Another option is N3rgy for gas and elec consumption figures.
Again only 30mins timescales and its all API driven so not the easiest for someone new to that kind of thing.

Tim I have just got access to the Hildebrand MQTT, were there any guides you followed for integration? I am using Home Assistant and can work it out, just don't fancy spending hours on it is there is a quite somewhere. Thanks!
