So there has been lots of posts about adding fans to cool the AC3. I am wondering if I could add a small usb hub and attach the wifi dongle and a usb fan or 2. Has anyone tried a hub? My AC3 is external but covered so it would not get wet etc. Just wondering if this would work?

It is 17c outside, AC3 is charging the battery at 2.7kw and the unit is is at 51.3c already.

Many thanks all you creative people!

Will need suitable fusing i guess but any merit in coming off the 48V battery input on the inverter?
limit is 60V so this kind of thing with inline fusing in an enclosure?

Just checked with GE and a hub is not recommended, they suggest getting a proper socket installed. But I will check with my regular sparky to see if he has any suggestions as he will install it anyway!

judgepd Well..... My order is confirmed for 3 more kw (6x 500w vertex panels). Giving me 9980watts and will cover my entire roof, so no more solar after that 😉

THALL Next you have to order more batteries to put all the solar! :-)

judgepd I think my wife requires a holiday before I spend anymore on the house. I do point out that all this solar is considered a home improvement, but the look in her eyes lately is saying "HOLIDAY OR ELSE"

You could try one of the very very long USB extension leads from the nearest socket. Something like this:

Its ok, my sparky is going to fit an outside socket that has usb ports. Though I am tempted to fit a smart plug and schedule them to come on during the day and only March to September etc.
