Battery showing as discharging to the grid

On the app, my battery shows as it is discharging to the grid, and a times solar direct to the grid. Is this a bug on the app or a setting I need to change

Hedaux11 depends how much it shows importing and exporting. The inverter tries constantly to balance supply to minimise grid import and store your solar in the battery if the house doesn’t need it. When you turn on and off a kettle etc the load changes and there’s a slight lag in the inverter detecting this and rebalancing.

If it’s just small amounts and the inverter catches up, it’s nothing to worry about.

Remember also that the display only updates every 5 minutes (or 10 seconds on Home mode) so what you are seeing is a snapshot

My battery starts slowly discharging to the grid when it hits 100% until it gets to 95% and then it charges from solar rapidly back to 100% and the cycle repeats. I have been told by GivEnergy that it is needs a firmware update but I need to be at home to do it and I am in Tenerife at the moment.

It involves removing the front of the battery and taking out a USB memory stick and replacing the file on that with a PC.

Actually it isn't my battery that needs the firmware update it is my inverter, which apparently has a USB socket on the outside but I have never seen it.
