Smart tariff information missing in usage report

When I view my usage / generation report in my account the report says that my energy supplier tariff is not set. Yet, in the dashboard it is showing as 'Intelli-Flux Export'.

I've had solar since October 2022 and a 5.2kwh GivEnergy battery system since 8th August 2023.

My Smart Meter hasn't communicated with Octopus since 31st July 2023 and since switching to Intelli-Flux Export a week ago the battery has remained at 100% charge and I've lost any system intelligence and load-balancing I had since switching.

Should I be chasing Octopus, or looking to GivEnergy for a solution? Any ideas?

Thanks.

lozzer1962 sounds like you're in the same situation as me - had to continually chase Octopus but they ended up swapping my meter. Mine stopped communicating with them around 26th July.

Make sure if they go this route they connect your gas meter up as well as they "forgot" to do that to mine and I've been moved off the tracker rate paying 70% more since then!

Many thanks. My worry is that I will lose all of the historical data that is supposedly stored in the meter if they end up changing it. It took them months to agree to put me onto an export tariff, even though the system had been giving back all the soloar it was generating and they wouldn't give me any credit for that.

Thankfully, we don't have gas, so that's one less thing to worry about as and when they eventually get round to doing something.

lozzer1962 ah, and here in lies my issue with them, I've had a complaint open because they decided to take the final reading from the old meter, average my last 12 months usage and bill me based on that for the period they couldn't communicate with the meter.

Took 15 emails, Ombudsman threats and me supplying GE, Home Assistant and a history of readings showing near 0 usage before they agreed to bill me standing charge only for import, and an average for export.

So I would expect to lose all your historic data if it's the same issue as I had with my meter

Thankfully I have three meters - one for the house, one for the Solar and one for the Air Source Heat Pump, so I should at least be able to provide some dead-reckoning if they can't retrieve the old data for me.

Why is everything a battle these days? I thought that this technology was supposed to make life easier.

I have solved one of the two issues - that of the battery not discharging since switching to the new tariff.

The Inverter time had been set by the installer to GMT+1, so all of the reports I could see were 1hr out. I changed it to GMT and 'Sync Inverter Time' and now the battery is discharging to the house again.

Just waiting for Octopus to get their finger out and fix the meter comms problem.
