Hi, apologies for this basic question....
If I buy a Zappi ( I'm quite ok with electrics ) - will it run from a short extension to an outside socket that is connected through a wall to an internal ring 32A RCD protected circuit? The circuit in question has only a couple of table lights as the load. Or must it have it's own dedicated cabling?
Thanks
Zappi newbie question

Pretty sure these have to be signed off by an electrician and the DNO informed etc.
THALL Thanks - I was afraid that might be the case :-(

pjb904 Just had mine installed last month and recall signing all the paperwork to send off to the DNO.
Defo DNO approval required to install a car charger.
Ok, thanks. I've seen Zappi mentioned here a lot. Is a Zappi better (more suited/integrated with Giv) than a Pod Point? Any thoughts anyone?

Its not that. Its that a zappi works with solar and allows trickle charge from just your solar. I believe a pod point can schedule charge but can't be set to use just the excess solar. It can also see/avoid drain of your home storage battery etc depending on the setup.
HI
Can anyone provide a simple guide/set of settings for a Zappi? I have a set of solar panels with an 8.2 battery and an EV (that came this weekend - the zapped etc were installed last Nov when the car was supposed to be delivered!)
I've searched through various forums, but cannot find an idiots guide (that's me) and am looking for help.
Thanks

Chanced To be honest there is not a 1 settings list that suites all to these. Depending on your inverter and what you want to do / automate etc. But happy to help. Also I found going down though the menu options in this wiki and just listing what I wanted afterwards was pretty good for 90% of things.
Thank you and appreciate you offer to help. I’ll work my way through the wiki first
The Zappi will use all excess solar using the Eco+ setting, you can have Eco and set amount of green energy. Or you can fast charge if needed. The is also a smart charge if you need a certain percentage by a certain time.
There are other options that help with having a battery system such as avoid discharge but require a CT clamp on the battery cable. There is also a timed delay to allow other products to use the solar first, also min export level so will only charge when min export level is reached. It's a very flexible system.
EV's need min 1.4kW to charge using the Zappi, so bear that in mind.
thank you - lots of reading and decisions to be made!
THALL Thank you! That's really helpful to know! 😊
