Quck-Set Pause

Hi. My understanding of the 'pause' function on the app's quick settings button is that the battery neither charges nor discharges. If so, does anyone trying that function see that it appears to keep running (discharging to home) as per normal?? Otherwise please clear-up my misunderstanding.

Storm Babet caused me problems yesterday and my batteries are lower than I'd like and no sunshine to fall back upon, so I'm planning to let the grid take the strain for a while...

lawton quick set 'Pause' works as a bit of a fudge for the fact that on Gen 1 gear there actually isn't a 'pause' function.
What it does is set both the charge and discharge registers to 0W.
This means it sends multiple signals to the inverter - sometimes they can get a bit lost on the way.

To rule that out - is it a repeatable failure to actually pause or just once in a while?

Of further note, some firmware versions for Gen2 or 3 don't actually stop ALL discharge even if you set them to 0W. But in an ironic twist they do actually have a pause function that does so, although I believe this isn't available in the app yet, just the inverter remote control page on the main portal.

lawton yep. Gen 1 AC3s here. One battery often pauses with it, the other inverter sometimes stays at 25W…

Smk82 There's also a bug with the current production firmware: zero isn't zero when setting the charge and discharge limits.

Thanks all for responding. I thought I'd discovered some hitherto unknown interpretation of 'pause'...

P-)

PS My inverter is Gen-2

hoggy Hi There, and thank you. Oh yes it's repeatable. It's done it every time I've tried it (which, to be fair, I can count on fingers of one hand!). I do use the quick-set charge button a lot though, mainly on dull days before premium tariff comes in.

lawton if your gen2 then it's likely the discharge rate not going to 0 bug/feature of that generation.
If you try the pause function on the portal you may fare better.
(Main portal > inverter tab > remote control cog icon )
