EV Charger Pricing

Has anyone had any quotes for installation as of yet?

You can get it cheaper from other wholesalers, I have mine pre ordered from ecobubl, just to name one.

I've got a tentative quote for £1200 in the Cambridgeshire area subject to the on-site electrician assessment on Friday. Install within a few weeks. This is adding to an existing Givenergy PV/Battery setup.

Hi. £1200 sounds a lot!
I paid approx £810 in total.

This included : £515 for the GE EV charger from solartradesales.co.uk

• approx £280-300 for the fitting by a local EV certified electrician, which involved a RBO witch adding to my CU, a long run of 32A EV charging cable (with an integrated cat5 cable to have a hardwire data link) and fitting of the unit.

I can't put an exact figure on the fitting as the EV install was added into other working running additional Ethernet cables outside and inside my house to extend my wired network.

I've only had the GE EV charger in for a few days, but i'm happy with it as it's easy to use, shows me lots of data (yet to add to the GivTCP in my Home Assistant setup) and my Cupra EV continues to merrily charge as per my Octopus Intelligent schedules. I'm hoping that formal OI integration will occur, and can see the ground work in the app already.

Whilst waiting 14 months for the charger to appear, i've thoroughly checked out a lot of charger options, but iu'm glad i held out for the GE, so the extra level of integration, the rich data and control, plus the fact its quite a bit cheaper than other similar featured EVSEs like the Zappi.
