The mobile app has a pause option to stop the battery charging or discharging but no option to set the time boundaries for this option. The application on tmy lap top doesn't seem to offer a pause option under the inverter settings. I want to charge my car at night (cheap rate) but not drain my battery. Is it possible to set time limits to the Pause option?
mikejackson543 you can’t set schedules for pausing the inverter with the app or portal. You’ll need to use something external such as home assistant or octopus r&d. see other forum posts
To the developers - is this on the list of future upgrades? It would be a very useful feature and a surprising ommission given the other range of options.
There appears to be a facility in the web portal under the remote entry to set a start and end time for the pause command. I'm testing it now. I can get the start time to work, but the stop is not. It might be the window I have set is too short.

One way might be to use the overnight charge feature : if you set the target % to be the starting %, then it will just hold the battery, rather than charging. (If target % is higher than current %, it will charge to that ; if target % is less than current % it will discharge until then, then hold it.)
Another way might be to set target rate of 100%, but set charge rate to be as small as possible - 0 if it will go that low.
Do you get this to work? It worked on my gen3 prior to the latest firmware upgrade but I have not got it to work since.
Squid Not really. I ended up setting it to 00:00 to 23:59 and then just turning on and off with HA.
I tried this tonight and it worked for me although there is a minute or two delay unpausing.
I've now set it to pause discharge between 02:00 and 06:30 (approx eco 7 hours) as I can't see the point of using battery during the cheaper rate when my solar (minus load) is only enough to add a few percent each day. I do also charge the battery during eco 7 of course and am still learning (day 2 of ownership!)
Joe88 welcome to the forum.
If you're charging from the grid, that will automatically inhibit discharge until the end of the charging time, even if it reaches the target SoC before the end of the window, so it shouldn't be necessary to take steps to also pause discharge.
Unless, that is, the battery is already above the charge target you set, in which case it will discharge down to the charging target. (So having said the above, I do myself reduce discharge power overnight.)

In case it helps anyone, I can confirm that pausing and unpausing worked as I expected (I had a different timed charge period so it was the pausing/unpausing)
Joe88 Do you happen to know whether pausing takes precendence over a timed charge? eg if you have a charging window of 00:00 to 04:00 and a pause-battery of 01:00 to 02:00, will it charge between 01:00 and 02:00 ?
DD No it won't and on Gen1 at least it'll break the charging window - the end time will not happen. "Eco (pause)" is a function best avoided IMHO as its not reliable when combined with charging windows.
DD On my All In One there is an option to pause charge or pause discharge or pause both so when I tested it overnight I just did pause discharge (between 0030-0730) so it still charged in the shorter timed charge window (0200-0600) when pause discharge was switched on.
However, as I think you said earlier, it may be simpler just set the timed charge window from 0030-0730 to stop it discharging during my economy 7 hours when I may as well use grid. Obviously this all changes when solar charges the battery enough to cover 24 hours but that's another thread :-)
