We are new to the world of PV and batteries, everything was selected and installed by the house building. After waiting for 3 months we finally had our smart meter installed but things have gone a little crazy. The Octopus consumption data is wildly different to the records from GE. I have raised a technical query with Octopus but wondered if anyone else has seen anything like this.

Hi. You’re only looking at what the grid has supplied to the house. The grid has presumably charged the batteries too.
Click on the grid icon with the arrow going to the right.
This will show what you’ve pulled from the grid and where it went. Should be a lot closer. Mine is about 5kwh out.

Something looks off though as I am sure we have charged the batteries from the grid but that doesn’t seem to show.
Is the EM115 clamp the right way round?
Do you have an EV?
And also it’s not unknown that the GivEnergy reports are wrong. I have two hybrid inverters and I get negative consumption sometimes! All in one reports are also I believe suspect
What inverter do you have ?
Hook yes we do have a Tesla although we didn’t charge too much in that period.
What do the 30 minute Octopus readings say? ie what time/date did the energy get imported and does that tie up with car charging?
Also is the smart meter usage (ie energy used) significantly higher than before the meter was installed?
The way my ct clamps are arranged mean the Tesla doesn’t show on the GE report but is on the Octopus one. Looks a lot like yours
SimonClarke That’s what I was thinking. Maybe the EV charger is connected in a way that it doesn’t get picked up by the inverter.
But there’s 300kwh missing which would be about 4 full charges.
The other suggestion about the CT clamps being the wrong way around would also make sense.
Hook I put 233kw in the car so far this month. Been a quiet month so could easily see 300 if going to work/holidays etc
I think I might have a combination of issues as at first the car charger didn’t even have a c clamp on it. Then it was fitted but it isn’t compatible with GE. We haven’t charged very much since the smart meter was installed on 11 October. 
Vestas Yes, Octopus have acknowledged it is a lot more but that could be lower PV and more heating.
